Kultur braucht Förderung - durch die öffentliche Hand ebenso wie durch die freie Wirtschaft und private Unterstützer. Großzügige Zuweisungen des Bundes, des Landes Schleswig-Holstein, der Jürgen Wessel-Stiftung, der Commerzbank-Stiftung, der Stiftungen Possehl und Volkswagen, der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Literarische Gesellschaften sowie des Zentrums für Kulturwissenschaftliche Forschung Lübeck hat der Kulturstiftung die erste Projektphase auf dem Weg zum NEUEN Buddenbrookhaus ermöglicht.

Auch ohne den Einsatz vieler ehrenamtlicher MitarbeiterInnen, unzähliger PraktikantInnen, der im Buddenbrookhaus ansässigen literarischen Gesellschaften, des Fördervereins Buddenbrookhaus, des wissenschaftlichen Beirats und vieler privater SpenderInnen wäre an den Umbau des Buddenbrookhauses nicht zu denken.

Culture requires funding

Culture requires funding – from the public sector as well as from the private sector, and private supporters. Generous funding from the government, the state of Schleswig-Holstein, the Jürgen Wessel Foundation, the Commerzbank Foundation, the Possehl and Volkswagen foundations, Literary Societies and the Lübeck Center for Cultural Research has made it possible for the first project phase of the NEW Buddenbrookhaus to take place.
Further to this, the remodeling of the Buddenbrookhaus would not be possible without the commitment of many volunteers, countless interns, the literary societies based in the Buddenbrookhaus, the Friends of the Buddenbrookhaus, the scientific advisory board and many private donors.
